ABOUT THE ISLAND

If you are leaving from the UK please check this destinations website for entry requirements along with those of the UK for your return.

Your vacation experience will begin with your arrival at the Providenciales International Airport the gateway to The Turks and Caicos Islands, where you can choose to stay in one of the many stunning and luxurious villas, hotels and resorts, throughout the island.

Providenciales is the third largest island in the Turks and Caicos chain and the hub of tourism activity.  More commonly known as Provo, the 38 square mile island is home to Grace Bay Beach, recipient of the world’s best beach year after year….. Unbelievably clear clean water with hundreds of shades of blues and greens and white sugar sand beaches from several travel and tourism publications.

While Grace Bay Beach is renowned for its powder like sand and crystal clear waters, the island also boasts additional unspoiled beaches worth exploring such as Long Bay, Sapodilla Bay, Blue Hills Beach, Pelican Beach, Taylor Bay, amongst others.

For the discerning traveller, Providenciales guarantees exclusive opulence and luxury as well as serene solitude and unspoiled nature. Whether it’s a round of golf at the 18-hole Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club, Thursday’s Island Fish Fry, indulging in rejuvenating spa treatments, sampling our culinary delights, snorkelling at Smith’s Reef or swimming with Jojo the dolphin and his friendly counter parts, there is no shortage of ways to relax and unwind.

Though best known for their crystalline waters and luxurious accommodations, Turks & Caicos is quickly becoming a stand out destination for exquisite culinary experiences. An intriguing delight for any traveller is the opportunity for immersion into the local culture in every sense of the spectrum.

In July 2022, Kew Town, on the island of Providenciales local Turks & Caicos farmers congregate with their produce.

There will be lettuce, lemongrass, pigeon peas, plantains, peppers, bananas, breadfruit, maize, mangos and sugar apples. The produce may vary but there will be one constant; it is all grown in Turks & Caicos soil.

Combining the freshest of local catch with sensational native ingredients the Turks & Caicos master chefs are the budding talents that will be the future of their countries culinary landscape.

Activities:

Golf

Located on the gateway island of Providenciales, the 18-hole championship golf course of Royal Turks and Caicos is now voted a top 3 Caribbean golf course by USA Today’s 10 best. The course is in tremendous condition having been re-turfed throughout with Platinum Paspalum grass, the new standard in the golf industry.

Waterloo Golf Club is a 9 hole, par 54 course built in the grounds of the Office of the Governor of the Turks & Caicos Islands. Officially opened on January 3, 1998, it was designed by His Excellency the Governor and built entirely by volunteers, including the Governor himself. The course which is 2758 yards long, is open to tourists. It is located just a few hundred yards from the Cruise Ship Centre. The Green Fees are $25 per day, no matter how many times you play.

If you wish to play during your visit to Grand Turk, simply call in at the Governor’s office. As the course is small, the number of players allowed on the course at once is limited to 36 so please come early. Clubs are available for hire, but if you have your own clubs please bring them along as numbers are limited.

You’ve done the jet skiing, and the fabulous sunset cruises; now is the time to explore the island beyond those experiences. Visit the islands, see the unique birds in their natural habitats. Book your stay in time to see the fascinating humpback whale convergence off the tiny island of Salt Cay. The unmatched experiences that await you are only as limiting as your imagination. Go past the ordinary and create memories that will truly last you for every.

Diving

The diving and snorkelling is as convenient as it is stunning, thanks to miles of coral reef that’s easily accessible from the shore.

There is a plethora of opportunities for Scuba Diving, and snorkelling; look for the TCI- Assured sign for confidence.

Eco-tourism

The term Eco-tourism first showed up in the travel scene in the early 80’s. Since then it has evolved – Sustainable Tourism, Green Practices, Mindful Travel are just a few examples of phrases you’ll see in tourism. When you spend any time on an excursion in Turks & Caicos you will likely experience the contagious excitement of your guide. Perhaps what you might not have considered is the pre-trip briefings contain some very intentional information.
