ABOUT THE ISLAND

If you are leaving from the UK please check this destinations website for entry requirements along with those of the UK for your return.

The Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba offers a significantly different Caribbean experience. Just 15 miles off the cost of Venezuela, Aruba is a melting pot of South American and Dutch influences. Its native population is descended from Arawak Indians. Aruba’s geology is unique in the Caribbean, its pristine white sand beaches a stark contrast to the wild cliffs and black pebbles of its Atlantic coast and red desert-like interior populated by cactus.

World-class resorts, fabulous restaurants, action-packed casinos, exciting nightlife, duty-free shopping, rejuvenating spas and all kinds of land and sea activities and off-road adventures create the perfect Caribbean vacation. No wonder we enjoy the highest repeat visitor rate of any Caribbean

Ribbons of sparkling beach ring around our shores like brilliant diamonds. Clear Caribbean waters are perfect for sailing, kayaking, wet ‘n wild fun, and deep sea fishing. Windsurfers and kite surfers come from near and far to ride glorious trade winds while spectacular coral reefs and sunken wrecks mesmerize divers with a dazzling parade of marine life.

The calm southwest coast is peppered with opulent high-rise resorts and casual low-rise retreats. Golf is perfect amidst desert beauty and sweeping sea views. A shoppers’ paradise, the bustling capital city of Oranjestad reveals much about the island’s turbulent history and diverse culture.

The wind-whipped northeast coast is home to secluded coves, sand dunes and a natural pool. Raging seas have carved out underground caves and natural bridges; mysterious rock formations punctuate parched desert. The Arikok National Park is a natural preserve of cactus-studded landscapes, rugged trails, fascinating historical sites, and curious wildlife. Make time for some off-road adventure; our divi-divi trees will always point the way home!

From serene to sizzling, our nights are filled with anticipation and excitement. Toast the fiery sunset with an icy pina colada at a jumping beach bar. Enjoy a traditional Aruban meal at a local eatery or an elegant international gourmet dinner prepared by an award-winning chef. Afterwards, exhilarating casinos, trendy clubs, glittering shows, pub crawls, party boats, or just a quiet nightcap await you.

Somethings you might light to see and do:

  • Explore the Beaches - Fringing turquoise Caribbean waters, kissed by the sun and cooled by constant trade winds, Aruba’s beaches include wide shaded expanses, quiet retreats, and busy sunbathing and water sports meccas. Much of the seven-mile strip along the west coast is lined with resorts and packed with activity.

  • AquaXotic Sports - AquaXotic is the second water sport operator on the island of Aruba. Established back in 1980 we offer a variety of water-sports activities including jet skis rental, parasailing, banana boat, tubes, bottom fishing trips and more. We have been proudly serving Aruba’s guests and we are recognized by the local maritime authorities as a safe water-sports operator and our safety record is excellent.

  • Kitesurfing and Windsurfing - Whether you’re a beginner, an expert or anywhere in between, you can find a suitable location for windsurfing in Aruba. The constant 15-knot trade winds, along with the variety of flat-water locations and challenging wave conditions, have made Aruba one of the most popular spots on earth for windsurfers and kite surfers. Aruba offers novice windsurfers and kite surfers to take advantage of the gentler winds, abundance of rental equipment and instructors along the island’s south shore.

  • Skydive Aruba -  Skydive Aruba Air Adventures is a fully licensed and insured Tandem Skydiving operation. You will experience the thrill of Skydiving with minimum training while attached to one of our highly experienced instructors. The adventure begins when we pick you up and transport you and your instructor to the airport. Our airplane will carry two tandems per trip, so all you have to decide is who will go first! You will experience freefall for roughly 40 seconds from an altitude of 10,000 ft.

  • Aruba Ostrich Adventures - Although Africa is the native land of the ostrich, this intriguing bird finds a perfect home in Aruba’s rugged landscape. The Aruba Ostrich Farm welcomes you to come and meet its 80-count flock of the largest living species in the world. Visitors are encouraged to partake in a guided tour of the farm, inhabited by both ostriches and their flightless Australian relatives.

  • ATV Tours - Thrill Seekers can prepare themselves for the ride of their lives, by partaking in an unforgettable adventure exploring the wild side of Aruba by All Terrain Vehicle (ATV). Tours are led by an expert guide who will safely guide you through the streets of Aruba, cruising by island residents’ charming and colourful homes. As soon as you leave the paved roads, it’s time to be jauntily bouncing through the starkly beautiful Aruban countryside.

  • Bon Bini Festival - Every Tuesday the Bon Bini Festival happens rain or shine from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. “Bon bini” means “welcome” in Papiamento. It happens year-round at Ft. Zoutman in Oranjestad and you can enjoy the Antillean dancers, the rhythms of the steel drums, browse stands of local artwork and partake of food and refreshments.

  • Bubali Bird Sanctuary - Migratory birds, looking for lush vegetation in which to nest, find an oasis within the Bubali Bird Sanctuary. The nearby water treatment facility empties into two inter-connected man-made lakes, known as the large and small Bubali Bird Ponds. The area has become a resting and breeding area for more than 80 species of migratory birds. Birds that inhabit the sanctuary include herons, egrets, gulls, skimmers, coots, cormorants, numerous species of ducks and more.

  • Bus and Jeep Tours - This is a great way to navigate the island in a single day without a map! You are now part of a jeep tour “wagon train” that will often contain 10 or more four wheel drive vehicles, consisting of Jeeps and Land Rovers. Organized jeep tours often stop at the California Lighthouse, charming Alto Vista chapel, Seroe Crystal, the Bushiribana gold mill ruins, famous Natural Bridge, through the back roads to the Guadirikiri caves and finishing off on a private island.

  • El Paseo Ranch Aruba - Acclaimed as ‘the best new ranch in Aruba’ we are proud to serve both international and local guests on a tour that will be memorable for years to come. El Paseo Ranch was established in 2008 by management with over 25 years of experience in the horseback riding business. When presented with the opportunity to provide horseback riding in the most wonderful area of the island, the choice was easily made. El Paseo Ranch offers the most diverse trails than any other ranch in Aruba.

  • Bars & Clubs - Latin rhythms drift down from terrace bars, competing with the Top 40 blasting from behind the doorways of vibrant hotspots, infusing the evening with an undeniable energy as partygoers travel from intimate taverns to rollicking nightclubs in the downtown area. Crowded dancefloors open up to admit even more revelers as everyone feeds off the growing exuberance and shared excitement of the nightly party.

  • Senor Frogs -  If we were to take out a personal ad, we’d describe ourselves as fun, outgoing, energetic and good looking. The good looking part might be a stretch, but the other words fit us perfectly. If you’ve ever been to a Senor Frog’s, you already know that we’re a place where people of all backgrounds hang together, dance, sing and basically act the way they want - without worrying about silly rules and regulations.
