Hotel Description

Royals and film stars have been drawn to the historic Blue Haven Hotel since the 1940's. It is said to be the site where Robinson Crusoe was stranded in 1659.

Blue Haven Hotel is located in a lovely neighbourhood just outside Tobago's capital, Scarborough, on a 15 acre oceanfront property at Bacolet Bay along the southern shore of Tobago. Blue Haven Hotel is bounded on three sides by the ocean and offers the convenience of close proximity to many of Tobago's attractions: the town centre, the market and cultural sites.

The idyllic, natural beauty of Tobago's landscape combines the charm and scenic splendour of all tropical islands... Unspoiled beaches, coral reefs, fort ruins, a rain forest, waterfalls, exotic flowers and trees, bird life and some of the friendliest people in the world, ensure that you have a complete vacation experience.

Extensively renovated, this glamorous and romantic property combines the tradition of the old days with modern facilities. The hotel is surrounded on three sides by the sea and all 55 rooms offer breath-taking ocean views.

Accommodation consists of 51 rooms and suites situated in the original building or new pavilions, with air conditioning, four-poster or double sleigh bed, ceiling fan, television, telephone with data port, bathroom and private balcony or terrace with ocean view. Deluxe rooms are slightly larger and Junior suites are more spacious still, with lounge area. Elegant rooms overlook the sea and are so awash in the sunlight that they positively glow….

With its half moon shaped and palm lined beach, this exquisite hotel paints Hollywood's dream picture of a Caribbean paradise. Royalty and famous stars like Robert Mitchum and Rita Hayworth stayed at this resort, which reopened after extensive renovations and is run by the Austrian owner himself. The restaurant spoils the guests with exquisite fish dishes and fine Caribbean cuisine. Nostalgic charm and modern conveniences merge to create an atmosphere that caters for top demands.

Sink into the swimming pool or head to the beach for non-motorised water sports including kayaking and boogie boarding. Treat yourself to a soothing massage and flop into a hammock, or hit the tennis court and work-out in the fitness area. Little ones will have fun in the children's playground.

Ask the hotel to arrange deep-sea fishing, scuba diving or snorkelling at local coral reefs, and tee off at a nearby golf course. The 15-acre grounds also include a terrace bar, restaurant and relaxing beach bar.

Stunningly perched above a secluded bay, the lovingly restored Blue Haven Hotel was voted Best Boutique Hotel at the 2009 Caribbean World Travel Awards. A 1950s silver screen classic, the hotel now blends the charm of another era with contemporary comfort.
